Your dog changes from puppy to adulthood via adolescence. This change happens anywhere from 6 months and ending as late as 24 months. During this time, there are dramatic hormonal changes and reorganization of the brain. Adolescent dogs have lots of energy and low impulse control when they play, explore and interact both with dogs and humans.
This class helps strengthen the human relationship with their teenage canine companion.
Duration of behaviors' are taught through the definition of and practice of criteria.
Clients will provide video assignments through WhatsApp.
Topics covered include:
- Luring, capturing and shaping behaviour's
- Settle vs Down vs Calm
- Relax around the environment
- Tiredness vs overstimulation
- Body awareness using Canine Fitness techniques
- Structured plan and exercise sessions
This class is 6 weeks long and is comprised of 6 one hour classes at the same day and time that you have selected unless otherwise noted.
Prerequisite: Your dog must be over 6 months of age in order to register and attend this course. Basic obedience skills such as focus, sit, down, stay and polite walking are necessary.
Please equip your dog with a flat buckle collar, front buckle harness, or head-halter for all classes. All other types of collars including pinch, choke, martingale and shock collars, as well as retractable-leashes are not permitted.
No fearful dogs. No aggressive dogs towards other dogs or people .
Female dogs in heat season (estrous cycle) are not permitted to attend classes during the period that the female is in heat. Animal Control bylaw 9150 - 4.7
All dogs must be able to provide documentation of up-to-date vaccinations or current Titers testing
Important Note: One-week notice prior to the date of the first class is required for cancellations or refunds. We are unable to provide refunds once classes have started. Dates and times of classes are subject to change.
